"Working on MATH1053 - statistics problems can be frustrating; but it doesn't have to be! My best advice is to think about what the problem is asking you to do. Come up with a list of keywords that identify each different technique, and look for them in the problems, so you'll know how to attack those problems on an exam. Write down the formula you plan to use and label which numbers you want to plug in to each piece. Do the calculations correctly and document your work. Apparently, check your answer to see if it makes sense."

"The MATH1053 exam is a difficult exam. Instead of memorising formulas and calculations, you must understand how to interpret and manipulate statistical data. You will be given a list of formulas and tables to use during the entire duration of the exam. Therefore, don't waste your valuable study time trying to memorise formulas and equations. Since the purpose of the MATH1053 exam is to test your ability to analyse, understand, and explain fundamental concepts of statistics - of course, the focus is taken off memorisation."
