FIN281: Finance introduces the student to the principles of financial management from a corporate perspective. The approach is to present and examine the theories and practices of investment, financing and dividend decision-making; and to examine the application of a range of analytical techniques appropriate to contemporary financial decision making. After completing the subject, students should be able to analyse and solve financial issues faced by business enterprises, particularly relating to investment, asset management, and financing decisions. They will also be able to employ analytical techniques utilising contemporary electronic aids for financial decision-making and analyse the impact of economic, legal, and tax changes on a firm's financial position.
